Capturing your Faithful Friends

I have a passion for all animals, but I do have a huge soft spot for dogs. I have always had a dog - the house would be far too quiet and empty without the pitter patter of their feet, and the panting!

I always feel dogs offer us unconditional love and companionship no matter what - they are so loyal and loving. And with us for such a short time.

Even before all of these lockdowns and restrictions, I have enjoyed walking. I do at least 100 miles every month with my dog in tow! We go out and explore and have fun and it keeps me fit. You’ve probably seen some of my photos on social media from our walks.

I love photographing dogs. It’s always interesting to see that interaction between a dog and their owners. Some beautifully behaved and some with real character, but always great fun to shoot - they are full of joy.

And each breed is so different. I have a Labrador who so fits the stereotype! She finds a snack on every walk from picking fresh blackberries on branches to fallen apples in the hedgerow - she always finds something!

Photographing dogs has been a bit of a theme in the last couple of years, and I always love these projects.

I recently photographed a Springer Spaniel and he only had eyes for his ball. He even turned down my squid treats - my dog would never do that! As he would do virtually anything for his ball, posing him was really easy!

Having a beautiful portrait of your dog is such a great way of capturing the memory of the fun and joy they brought into your life. And why not get the whole family involved and get some fab family shots too?

This is what a recent client had to say…

Tara has just done a set with our dog and we are so pleased with the pictures! She’s captured him perfectly in every way and even got some great shots of him running, even though he’s pretty quick!

I would highly recommend Tara to anyone wanting to get some great pics of their dog. I just have the difficulty of choosing which ones to frame and put up - my wall isn’t big enough!
